Maybe it’s time to put the drive for No. 28 on hold.
Every day it seems another Yankee is taking a trip to the injury list — or one already on it only suffers worse fate.
Dellin Betances (right shoulder impingement) is the second to fall into the latter category, with the longtime set-up man needing another MRI on Friday after his simulated game on Thursday did not fare well, according to manager Aaron Boone.
Velocity concerns during spring training landed Betances on the injured list in March — which now includes a mind-boggling 12 Yankees — and he joins ace Luis Severino as the latest Bomber to run into a mishap while rehabbing.
An MRI earlier this week revealed a lat sprain for Severino, who had already been ailing from an inflamed right rotator cuff that has delayed the start to his season.
Severino is expected to miss three months. The Yankees can only hope they receive better Betances news.
